Nope, I cannot agree with you that no light is the best protection. An intruder does not have to bring light with , he only need a pair of night sight devices (made in Russia) which are available for 70 - 100 $ on every flea market. On our museum RR over here in Germany exactly that happened and all the builder's plates (19th century) and some engine parts are gone forever. Some light is neceesray but must it be on concrete pole !!! Some nice long wood poles ( Hey, what do you have the Redwoods for, only from commercial plantitions of course)would fit much better in to the scene.
