No Light is Best Security

June 07, 2001 01:58PM
Actually, there is a common misconception among many people that light provides security, apparently so intruders can be spotted.
With no light available, an intruder has to bring his own light and there is nothing more obvious than someone waving a flashlight around in the dark.
Minimal lighting is going to result in a less "inviting" environment and less theft and damage.
I agree that lighting should be provided, and a lot of it when needed, for both reasons of safety and security. Motion detectors would be a fine idea, if they are not already installed. They never sleep, and are very reliable. And not very expensive.
