We MIGHT get a little much-needed rain here in Ventura today - it's really dark to the north, over scenic Ojai (the Ground-Squirrel Capital of the World). The weather-guesser is predicting a five percent chance of one-tenth of an inch

Anyway, to hopefully brighten your day, here are a few more night shots from Durango. These were taken on the evening following the two above of the southbound Silverton Train taking water on 10/03/64. Let's start with a ghost, to get in the spirit of things

And this looks like a ghost of the same setup as two years before - #487 lighting up #473's tender across the turntable - but the photos are from different rolls of film with different events before and after, so either it's a funny coincidence or maybe it was #484 - not #487 - providing the light back in 1962

The roundhouse wasn't as far off limits back then, but even so I didn't venture very far beyond the doors
