GREAT PHOTOS and also the web link you provided had a lot of good information. THANKS!!! What is the status of that great railroad crane? It would be great if it is on its way to the SV. There wre Northern and Southern narrow gague lines in Panama. While you were there, did they talk about when the southern lines were closed down? I would like to know.

There have been some questions on the World Diesel Yahoo Group about the Panama No. 720. Is this locomotive a GE U6B or is it identical to the earlier GE 50 tonners which had 420 hp similar to the Southern Pacific NO.1 (and the diesel number 805)?

I am surprised that with previous discusstions here that the C&TS needed another diesel or two, that there are none of these diesels on the way to Chama. I know these diesels can be operated in multiple unit and in Costa Rica, they had dynamic brakes installed on them.
