Hi Jason,
A very big thank you for joining the Friends AND making a contribution to the ACNGS2 fund. I can assure there is much interest within (and outside of) the Friends organization to move forward with restoration of cars that can be used to recreate a historically correct San Juan and Yes I would bet my backside that it will be varnished Pullman Green. There is a very receptive and open-minded board of directors that can be contacted thru the Friends website with whom you can discuss your ideas/concerns. And they will be more than happy to let you volunteer for such projects. If you cannot participate in a work session, at least try to schedule a vacation thru Chama/Antonito during one and stop and see what is going on. There is always someone willing to stop work for a few minutes and talk trains.
All kidding aside, thanks for joining and thanks for supporting BOTH the Nevada Northern and the C&TS.
A scene from the Friends of the C&TS work session B, May 2007.......this is one of the old rider boxes being refurbished into a latrine car for freight train charters/specials (the cabeese commodes can only handle so many personal duty calls on a special with 60+ riders). That's a side sill splice repair being prepared by Russ Hanscome (white hard hat) and his crew..............
