I have to interject on behalf of Marlins sake, Marlin knows what he is doing, Marlin is a great Draftsman, engineer, researcher and preservationist! Marlin and his Dad are a wealth of knowledge and should be consulted more on things. Mr. Schreiner just how many locomotives have you built from scratch, and just how many has Marlin built for you to make such a judgment? Marlin has built and rebuilt at least 20 5" scale 15" gauge live steam locomotives that I can think of, and has cosmetically and operationally restored countless pieces of large equipment locomotives and rolling stock alike, and have all been delivered within budget and to the customers liking. What you are saying is slanderous, and you have no personal evidence to back up your statement. When I started railroading I was taught by my great grandfather that ran for the UP, Henry Townsend that ran for the Pennsi, Neil Vodden that ran for the SP, Dee Brown that ran for the Rock, and Marlin and His father Virgil. I have been around steam since I was 10 years old, and have never ever known six more knowledgably, experienced, kind, and devoted men in my life and I doubt I ever will. You sir, should take heed from these men that are still around and learn all you can as opposed to just making brash ill-informed statements. Because what we don't learn today will be gone when they are, and will be lost forever!
