Making #9 a coal burner again isn't an option as long as she runs on the Loop. I believe Clear Creek County has an ordinance against coal-burning locomotives, due to the fire danger that they pose, which is why #9 was converted to oil in the first place. And speaking from experiance from the small amount of firing #9 that I did, she did just fine on oil. She was just touchy, and you had to know how to baby her.
