I have watched the clip twice, but its not very long and I did not notice the track gauge. If this were Salida the depot would be on the right, but that is not shown in the film. You see something behind the engineers side as it backs up.
What about Gunnison. Wouldn't they have to wye the train somewhere to head back to Salida? I am not at all familiar with the track layouts or operations there.
My first thought on this train was that it was the San Juan maybe backing up to depart Durango, but did not see the Durango Station and it didn't look like that town.
Could it have been something on the Chili Line?
