I understand your taste for the prototype, but many who frequent this board are also modelers, and for good reason.
Modeling the narrow gauges are the closest that many of the posters here will ever get to the real thing. Whether they are limited physically, geographically, or financially makes no matter.
This is a hobby with many facets, modeling of the prototype is just one of them.
If you don't like the modeling posts, don't read them, it's as simple as that. Many of us who later went into the full scale stuff started with modeling (Coker, Me, Mike Ramsey, Earl, etc.) and most of us still keep our hands in it. So discussing models is a pleasant diversion every so often. The quality and type of castings are just a part of it.
So if you don't like the posts or they aren't relevant to you, then don't read them or start your own thread.
It's just that simple
