Rick, Thanks for the compliment. We did get credit for filming "The West". In fact, working with Ken Burns, Steve Ives and the group was a real pleasure. In fact, if you go to the PBS web site at PBS.org and look up The West, you will find some photos that were taken during the filming. Check under Chapter 5 "The Grandest Enterprise Under God" which was the modest title of the televised segment dealing with the building of the railroads. Also, if you read Steve Ives comments at the end of the site for the West, he mentioned that of all the filming they did over the years that they were making that documentary, the most enjoyable time they had was one night after filming when we were heading back to Durango when the film crew rode up in the cab with us. The sparks were coming out of the stack were mesmerizing and the soft yellow glow of the oil buring headlamp on the tracks was magical. It was a special time for all of us.
As for heading back to the C&TS, there is some talk developing about it. However, nothing final has been arranged. We'll see how it goes.
