Well, I'm glad someone has had a good laugh about the assumption that Colorado is the only place I have run Eureka. Actually, I have run it on the US Gypsum in California, which is almost as long as the D&S, it has been to the Nevada State Railroad Museum a number of times and likewise at the California State Railroad Museum. At those museums it may not have run much, but it was seen by a whole lot more people. Forgive me, but just why it is humerous that I have run it in Colorado escapes me. Not a single soul in Colorado contributed one cent to Eureka's restoration nor was it expected that anyone do so there. I just knew that it would be a good place to share it with folks. As for the NSRM's #12, I never said it should never visit Colorado, in fact I said just the opposite. What I did say is that it is Nevada's engine and it will remain Nevada's engine not because of what I say, but because it was accepted as a donation into the NSRM collection as a Nevada artifact. Once something is accepted here on that basis, it is virtually impossible for it to leave NSRM ownership and any talk about some other group getting it is a waste of time.
When it is restored, I hope it does visit Colorado. But it will come home to Nevada.
However, I have got to know,if it does visit Colorado, will that be a good laugh like taking Eureka there? You comment makes me think that maybe some out there feel we are fools and slap their sides when we do so. If there is something funny about it,please explain it to me because I really enjoy a good laugh myself. I guess I just missed your point all together.
By the way, I have seen many of your posts, and wonder what PRSL stands for? Do you have a name? Are you a group? Is it a military term? A railroad term? An FAA term? An IRS term? Is it a term at all? Does it stand for anything? Is it to remain one of the great mysteries of the universe that will have to await when we finally discover the validity of string theory? It has got to stand for something....please share it with us that don't know but are sitting on the edges of our chairs to finally know the answer to this deep mystery. C'mon...you can tell us, we can keep a secret. There may be a time when I or someone else may want to compliment you for something, and it is hard to credit of bunch of meaningless letters.
