Mikky,
Maybe "lemon" was a little harsh, but don't you agree that for a quarter million the engine should at least be able to stop the train it's pulling? Your right about all the really important stuff working, but you throttles and brakes are fairly important as well, am I right? If I ever do look at purchase I will inform them that I know of its foibles, should drop the price a bit. What kind of traction engine did you buy? If your really into those tractors and such you should head over to Brookings Oregon for their annual steam-up each summer. Just about every piece of vintage machinery you could think of is there, steam and other. They even have a real steam powered sawmill, plus a trolley museum. Well worth a visit.
