Re: Morenci Southern #102, etc

You must be refering to the pictures of Morenci Southern #102 that appear in David Myrick's RRs of Arizona vol III. This is a very nice looking little parlor-coach.
But, there is no indication that this car went to the White Pass & Yukon Route. The White Pass did obtain two passenger cars from an Arizona line through United Commercial in 1926. There is indication that these cars were numbered 3 and 7 in Arizona. And WP&YR records indicate that #7 came as a parlor-coach. An ACF builder's photo exists for Coronado #7 which is a parlor coach and a much longer car than the Morenci Southern car. I propose that Coronado #7 went to the WP&YR and became #242. The #3 (to WP&YR #240) probably also came from the Coronado.
The White Pass created its first parlor cars in 1912 when it converted four coaches into parlor cars for to its increasing tourist business. It is reported that these particular cars had arrived at Skagway in 1902 from the Los Angeles & Redondo. Early photos of these cars as parlors show some widened windows created by removing intermediate posts. During the twenties additional coaches were converted into parlor cars.
I've been hunting down the history of White Pass passenger cars for over twenty years.
