Well said, Don Richter. The argument is pointless. The facts demand improvement. Are we the ones who will make the improvement. I don't think so. Perhaps the airing of opinions will stir those in the proper positions to do so.
Advertising is just on segment of a larger issue known as marketing. Lots of money was spent on advertising. But how was it spent and was it spent as part of an integrated marketing plan?
Something is wrong. The idea that the D&S does better because it runs more trains is a naive observation. Many C&TS trains left the depots only partially full. hree times as many trains would have had at least three times as many empty seats.
Marketing, not more trains. Fill the trains and then figure out how many trains you'll have to run (with maintenance paid for with the increased revenue—Duh!) Just ask this poodle. Now, I think I'll have a "Beggin Strip." I really DO know it's not bacon. They just did a good job of marketing to my boss. Woof, woof from The Gnuf.
