The existing warehouse is what you refer to ...The two big wholesalers in the area of woll were T.D Burns and Edward Sargent .They probably each had warehouses as they were competitors in the Chama Valley.I cannot say who was t he original ownerof the existing building . Wool business was brisk until the Forest service jerked most of the permits to graze sheep in 1948 . This was due to the fact that sheep are notorious for chewing grasses down to the root). The local economy never recovered from that , as sheepherding had been a stape to the local subsistence culture for centuries .
