Earl ,
That's right ,I forgot about the "wild west town" . I was going by something I vaguely remember Fritz Bauer and/or Richard Braden saying .The building was essentially a barn and blocked the view of a good part of the yard .Nevertheless it would have been utilized for storage and perhaps even offices or a shop . I am fairly sure Sargent owned the building .They owned general mercantiles in Chama and Tierra Amarilla and purchased a lot of wool in the Chama Valley .
I still marvel that Scenic thought that they would rocket to 100,000 riders in their third year of operation .Instead ,they went broke .Sad to see 30 years pass and the legions of riders still haven't come . I conned a copy of the master plan from Clif Palmer (along with C&TS timetable No.1).
Though much was fanciful ,it is interesting how much of the plan came to pass and how it is still used by many involved as guide to the future development of the railroad .Incidentally ,Gary Getman did a good job with the drawings .
