I find it sad to see so few coal burners still operating. To me, one of the very intrinsic parts of my visual pleasure is all that smoke under load. Besides all the coal, and related facilities being gone or un-necessary, that jet engine whine of the oil feeder seems entirely contrary to the notion of an old steam locomotive. Of course, we all know about the fire shutdowns and practicality of oil. More just a statement of what constitutes what a steam locomotive "should be" to my eyes.
