You may want to look at the link to see at least one explanation of the term "pinhead." It has a local derivation as it relates to Telluride, electrical development, and that all involved the narrow gauge in the overall context. So, if the word pinhead is meant to be demeaning, I'm afraid the mark was missed, at least for some of us.
