Thanks, everyone, for the interesting responses.
Any idea about WHO came up with the various Grande Gold schemes and why they chose those particular colors?
Someone in management, or someone further down the line? (like the story behind the "flying" Rio Grande)
Were the colors intentionally chosen to represent Colorado and the Grande's precious metals heritage? or did someone just like the way they looked? I doubt there was much use of professional color and graphic consultants at mid-century.
Any "official" specs for Grande Gold, such as the Pantone PMS color numbers used in printing?
Why the different variations and consolidations of the black stripe(s)?
Yep -- trivial questions, one and all, but still intriguing in a behind-the-scenes sort of way. Thanks in advance for any insight!
