As I recall, John has the position right, at the end of the north spur. Also, the photo I have in mind showed it covered (quite possibly in Dorman's book). It would certainly have to be bigger (unless we can get a flock of class 60 engines going

I think Tom has a really good question about the wye. The only thing I can think of is that it would go onto private land and there was some reluctance to purchase the necessary real estate. Other than that it would seem to be a pretty good solution to the problem.
