My point was that they would be better made onto CD from the originals not the records, although that would be better than nothing. Finding the masters would be best, and then converting raw footage to the CD and or DAT too for backup. Then remaking a new master onto CD would be the best process. Of course it all takes time and energy, if you can find the originals. One thing I am fairly good at is keeping my original videos where I can find them, as once in awhile I need to access a scene. With DVD, I am considering remastering some of my programs from 1984-1989 before I started mastering on One-Inch at Production Houses. If and when I find the time, I plan to start with the original tapes and make a new master with better editing. Of course I tend to not have time, although I have remasterd 2 programs in the last 4 years. Even though I try to keep stuff secure, currently I cannot find one 20 minute original of SP 4449 from 1989, when it was in LA. I have the other 7 tapes but can't locate that one, so maybe I am not as clever as I say I am, eh!!!
