Jeff, contact me off list if this is not famaliar to you. A certain SVRy historian now retired and living in Sumpter has spent he free time for the last 35-40 years hiking grades, mapping on USGS maps and has documented artifacts in the field with photographs. I was stunned to see a rather intact water tower photo of his on one of the logging lines. Alas after he took the photo in the 60's it was burned down. He would be a good person for you and Bill to hook up with.
