I enjoyed that part of "The Thunder of Their Passing" as well. Last time I was in Chama, I was blessed with the opportunity to chat with Vera about those days - lots of lost sleep with the railroad calling her around the clock as crews got called or arrived. Many times all they wanted was coffee.
