My first visit to Vera's was in 76 during the OM trip. On the way to Chama, my co-travelers were raving about (and warning me about) Vera's green chile sauce.
Many years later during a family trip to Chama, we were eating at Vera's, when my then 9 year old son turned to us and said, "That lady who just served us (Vera), is in some of the pictures out front, she must be famous!"
I assured him that she was indeed, quite famous.
No visit to Chama was complete without at least one visit to Vera's. She will be missed.
