The Chama vs. the Business Cars

February 21, 2005 04:07PM
Kevin,
Those are the Business cars that were left on the property. The B-2 and B-3 were privately owned for a while. The B-2 was owned by a groups of Five individuals, hense the name "Cinco Animas". I think the RR owned the B-7 as it was used quite a bit on the Silverton Train.
The Chama is still alive, well sort of. It was sold off to Knott's Berry Farm in 1952 and was converted into a Combine. It is still in good shape as Knott's has kept the equipment in great shape over the years. It usually runs just behind the locomotive with the Platform end facing foward and the Vestibule end facing the rest of the Vestibule coaches. I have pictures somewhere at home.
