Back in 1988 we did a study of OM with the intent of operating it for it's 100th birthday. For various reasons, the event never came about.
Mechanically, OM is in pretty good shape. The OM's biggest problem is the body and frame. Over the years the roof has leaked and rotted the
carlines as well as other major structural parts of the body. If run it would probably shed its body in the first drift.
Rotaries have steel frames, there is probably nothing wrong with OM's frame. Her body and body framework needs replacing.
Rotary plow boilers are not "locomotives" and therefore do not come under the "locomotive inspection act".
