I was wondering if anyone had an idea which locos had put in the most service on the C&TS since 1970. I have guesses, but nothing concrete.
Here they are:
1. 487 – seems to be in service almost constantly since ’73 (including a ’70 steam-up) except ‘85-‘86
2. 484 – started running in ‘71, been down for a couple of overhauls in ‘80- ‘85 and ‘99-‘03
3. 489 – back in service in ’81, ran pretty regularly until recently.
4. 488 – back in service in ’79, similar repair schedule as 484(?), but out longer ( a ’70 steam-up too ?)
5. 497 – inaugural run ’92 ran through ‘02
6. 463– back in service ’94 ran through ‘02
7. 483 – first to run ’70, idled in ‘78
8. 492 - if rumors are true a fire-up in '70, but '92 was never in revenue service.
If anyone has more to add, that would be cool.
