I was mainly concerned with years of service on the C&TS. The 497 was in operation on the D&S from June '84 to October '91 when it left for Chama. I worked at the D&S in '91 and caught wind of the trade so I took as many pics as possible on the line before it left. It was definately the least used engine that summer.
Speaking of the D&S, the years of service for those engines are a little easier, but I still am not sure of total time/mileage. I am mainly after the years on the D&S
473 - Out for most of '89 due to fire, but in fairly constant use since 1923 (nearly scrapped in early '50s)
476 - In nearly constant service from 1923-1999
478 - Been running since 1923 with occasional hiccups
480 - Arrived from Alamosa in 1981, Restored in 1985, fairly constant service since.
481 - Stored in Durango since 1968, restored and returned to service Aug. 1981, been running constantly since. (Most miles since D&S took over?)
482 - Returned to Durango in Oct. 1991, Restored for 1992 season, been running constantly since.
486 - Swapped with 499 in 1999, Restored for Railfest 2000, been running constantly since.
497 - Stored in Durango since 1967, Restored for 1984 season, ran through 1991 until traded to C&TS.
Have any of these engines, other than the 476 missed and entire season since the D&S took over or since they were restored?
