I may be wrong here as it has been awhile,. but Isn’t the measurement from the centerline of the 4th driver to the centerline of the trailing axle 14” longer on the K-37’s than with the K-36. This although not part of the ridged wheelbase would be another factor. I think this is the reason they went to the differing trail truck design.
Also look at the K-37 Frames most have had weld repairs done at the extension attachment running under the fire boxes It appears that the frames were cracking. I dont recall any K-36's with this repair.
