Hi Sam Bass,
First I must offer sincere thanks for your help in all those hard but enjoyable days of moving equipment. "After it was pointed out to us how the equalizers worked, we placed a jack under both sides of the truck frame and replaced the bearing in no time". I was the one who pointed out the equalizer blocking just from then looking at the problem, after laying back in the background, up hill above the motor car. I am in some photos. Ernie Robart was my escort on that trip, and the most trusted friend who had helped me be on the narrow gauge for many visits.
He just got a new job in Albuquerque, just got married (but wife is in DC for now) and is at a new phone number that I have not asked him if he wanted it put on the net. Sam, I'm sure he will enjoy talking to you and confirm all of what I remember. I have notes and times of those days and should look them up to make these posts. Again, thanks to all the volunteers that have kept the 64 miles alive.
