Have you ever had to re-rail anything? Spoyting the rule book at someone when they are trying to get "the show back on the road" will, most likely, elicit a very rude response. I have been involved in about 3 rerailing exercises in the last 20 years. Each was a split switch, each was a different type of rail vehicle, each required a different approach. On each occasion we used what was needed to get the job done. This included jacks, softwood packing, hardwood packing, BITS OF METAL, lifting jacks, slewing jacks, crow bars, pinch bars, sleepers, on on occasion another locomotive. No two events are the same, no rules bible will cover every event so leave to those who've been there before and you might get some respect, tell them how to do their job and they will treat you with, justifiable, contempt.
