Bill Collins is a fine and qualified track man, and a great motivator of the work crews. He worked in Alaska, and in 1996 re-built the Northwestern Pacific"s Eel River Canyon after winter floods, a nearly impossible task.
He then had a "falling out" with NWP management because Mr. Hauser decided he knew more than FRA track inspectors! Bill left, and went to the Sierra Railroad, where he performed more miracles, before going on to the Arizona & Calif. Railroad in Parker, AZ.
Lost track of him after that, but he is a true character, and he definitely "gets the job done".
