278 and K-28s

Jeff , My guess the 278 received the high sand dome between 1940 and 1945 .It was still lettered the old way in 1940 photos . Remember gas rationing from '42 to late '45 led to a dearth of photos of trains from that time slot . The last K-28 to run on the old Third Division was probably #474 ,as it held down the Crested Butte turn for perhaps all of its working life .
