The EBT hoppers, a.k.a. John's Folly, continue to languish in the Chama yard, the victims of too much to do and too few people. One car is almost done, and Dan keeps trying to squeeze it into the shop to get it finished. There remains a lot of ballast to transport, so hopefully at least one and maybe two or three can get done this summer. The big mistake we made was bringing these cars to Chama, where they have to compete with the locos for attention. If Marvin had been working on them in Antonito we'd probably have five cars running by now. Even though my supporters are beginning to desert me, I continue to feel those cars were a better choice than trying to convert more standard guage cars. But clearly I was overly optimitic about shop capacity.
