If the next locomotive is to the identical drawing, it is still the same sequence. The next number is reserved for the next different design that is identical to the other parameters.
I hope to be remembering this right. The locomotive I learned to fire on 25 years ago was a 10-22-D-94. That would be Alaska Engineering Commission 152, aka Huckleberry #2. I seem to remember putting the code from the SMU catalog on the board about a year ago, but the archives do not go that far back anymore.
Curtis, if you will be researching at Sacramento, could you find out if there is any more info on 10-12 1/4-D-5-199? I have the side view of this erecting drawing, but am looking for crossections. Its a US Army 60 cm 2-6-2T trench locomotive.
