Actually, the CP&W continued to operate until June 1972, when its owner, Carroll Stahl, died of a heart attack during the Hurricane Agnes flood. Stahl's family sold the railroad soon after, and a succession of owners tried to make a go of it until about 1975, when it all was sold off piecemeal. The water tank and station and a few of the western town buildings remain as part of a flea market on the site.
