The Climax at RC&BT originally was a Standard gauge logging locomotive from the Elk River Coal & Lumber company, the parent company of the Buffalo Creek & Gauley RR. A similar locomotive used by Moore-Keppel as their No3 runs today on the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Scenic RR. I had always heard that a Climax was a rough rider, but had never seen it for myself til this summer!
