That postcard brings back memories. One of my earliest train rides was on the Carroll Park and Western when I was about 5 yrs old. The train looked exactly like that. I remember visiting it again about 1967 or 68 and it was shut down. I've seen the Climax at Roaring Camp numerous times and it seems hard to believe its the same engine.
I had the chance to ride the Climax on the Durbin Rocket and it IS a rough ride. The trackage was washed out in several locations and had been repaired so it gave you a sense of what it would have been like in the woods. The crew was extremely friendly and quickly offered a cab ride. It was one of the highlights of my 2003 roadtrip!
