48" gauge porter

October 11, 2004 07:35PM
Hi,
D.F. Barnhardt has this listed:
Circa 1920's Porter Static Steam Locomotive. Orginal 0-4-0 T (rare 48" gauge) locomotive cosmetically converted to 0-4-2 forney style for static display. Body in very good condition. Excellent static display. Rests on panel track (included in sale).Weight: 26,000 lbs.; Height 9' 6"; Length ES-ES: 23' 6".
I was wondering what its history is. 48" is an unusual narrow gauge.
