Greetings to All and to Al….
Reflecting upon the history of our great nation and of all nations struggling to better themselves, I think of the brave, educated, partly educated and those who had no education, that worked hard, succeeded and those who tried but failed.
Did they have PR Departments, accountants by the dozen, Front Men, and people to check their spelling. Few did but most did it by the sweat of hard work, perseverance, and belief in what they were doing.
Those who admit defeat because of lack modern business tools will NEVER measure up to the greatness if Edison, Bell, Carnegie, and even Bill Gates, they started with nothing and built empires. Leland Stanford had no education, built a great railroad, built a grand university and will be known forever.
What have you built today?
What will you be remembered for?
Have you even tried?
We may or may not save this great piece of history, nor expect to be remembered, but those who 100 years ago who built this rail line, rebuilt Creede many times because of flood and fire and created a nation so that we can live in luxury , deserve to be remembered and held in respect.
To you Don: Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead……….
Not trying is the greatest failure of all
