Are you saying that because a group of 60 people (only 20 identified as residents) in a town of around 600 voters stand out in front of a courthouse and protest a fence being put up on property the Foundation ownes a right-of-way on or that some vandales destroy a fence and signs that our lawyer and insurance company requested us to put up, that we just give up on saving a peice of history??? I think you need to walk around and talk to the people of Creede and ask their opionon... I know I have.... Do we also deny the town of South Fork there wants and desires of having a train????
Of course im sided towards the rebuilding and restoration of this line. Just as I am for D&SNG and the C&TS. I also see reporting that is almost always showing one side. Controversy sells papers. It seems no matter what Don comes out and states, it gets twisted or worded in a way that can be misinterpreted by all. History is being lost every day, why should we just throw our hands up and say well a few are against this so we'll just give up????
As for slander, it is defined as to damage a reputation.... Don't you think sitting here making comments on a person using what you read, but not gathering all the fact's would not be termed as slander. I understand that this is a forum giving a place to state opinion, I was just trying to get people to realize that there are two sides to a story and to please base a opinion off of those two sides. Plus do a little fact finding yourself before commenting on a subject.
We all have opionions and I thank-you for you stating yours. All I was writting was the facts I witnessed while I was volunteering my time for what I feel is a VERY worthwhile cause.
THANKS,
Matt Cutter
