I would like to talk about loyalty.
I have stated this before. Over the years Lindsey and Rosa, Mark and Leah have treated me with with a lot of kindness and respect. They have made me feel very much welcome here as part of the team and as part of their family. When asked if I will work for RailStar my answer is "no." I will never betray the trust and friendship of these fine folks. Also, I will not but my repuation on the line for an unproven operator on this line with unproven equipment. This is just asking for trouble.
What has made the Georgetown Loop Railroad such a success over the last 30 years is not the equipment alone, but it is the people. The empoyess of the Loop are some of the finest steam railroaders I have ever worked with in my career. I am very proud to be a part of this company.
As one door closes another will open.
I know that the Ashbys and the Greskas will go on to bigger and better railroad projects in the future. I plan on being there along with them.
I wish Railstar the best. and I hope that CHS will treat you better than they have treated us. You have chosen a hard path to walk. One that is not easy to follow. Do it right.
