There are plenty of rattle snakes along the tracks of the CATS. Watch out around Antonito all the way to Sublette. Be paticularly careful Lava to Big Horn. I was on a PBL special one time when the banjo player hired to entertain the crowd was bitten at Big Horn while trying to convert Mr. clicker into a hat band. He was a very sick banjo player by the next morning.
On the D&S, rattle snakes have been seen on Hermosa Hill, though it is rare. My son killed one a few years ago above Pinkerton
