Well, Dave, it's interesting to see how many people interpret the same words in a different way.
I too am a taxpayer, but not to Coloroado. If I still lived there, I would be contacting my State Representatives, State Senators and Governor about this situation.
My main intent was to point out that you are being taken for a ride.
As far as my insulting the residents of Colorado, I would like to point out the I volunteered for the Colorado Railroad Museum all through High School and part of College, at no cost to the Colorado Taxpayer. I Started a local Historical Society in Broomfield in 1976 while serving on their Centennial-BiCentennial committee, at no cost to the Colorado taxpayer. I mde a major donation of papers salvaged from the Broomfield depot to jump start their collection at no cost to the Colorado Taxpayer. I helped save the 1903 Depot in Broomfield from demolition, at no cost to the Colorado Taxpayer. I donated C&S rule books, uniform parts, and photos of the Clear Creek Lines to the Gilpin County Historical Society, at no cost to the Colorado Taxpayer. I lettered the equipment belonging to the CHS in Georgetown in 1976-78 at no cost to the Colorado Taxpayer. I pinstriped and lettered an historic hosecart for the City of Silver Plume, at no cost to the Colorado Taxpayer. I built and lettered the Train schedule blackboard on the side of the Silver Plume Depot and the "Silver Plume" station sign that hangs above the Passenger side door at no cost to the Colorado Taxpayer.
Insulting the residents? I think not.
Tell me, Mr. Bates, have you given as much or do you just pay your taxes and keep your head down?
