Here are some photos showing the work that was done to 1009.
This first photo you can see the repaired lower window, the new roof covering is on as are the roof walks. You can also see the new end sill being fitted up.
Here Tom Gillen Sr is rounding off the ends of the new sill. The far left frame sill had to be repaired again on top. We removed a previous repair. None of the original tenons were lefton the frame sills, they had rotted off or been removed previously. We notched the ends of the sills and glued in new tenons.
New beam bolted in place with new and old hardware. You can also see the old beam laying on the deck behind. Note the rot in the center and left side.
Freshly painted button herald. The stencil lines were filled in later. We have what we believe is an original stencil from the C&S, we copied this stencil and used that for this herald. BTW the button herald is now on BOTH sides of 1009.
