Whoa Fred,
Don't get all fired up. Perhaps I should let this go and move on, but I would like to clarify what I posted just a tad. Please reread my post and you will see that I did not blame any individual employee at the C&TS. Yes, one individual who is no longer with the C&TS did contribute to some of #19's abuse and that individual is gone but I did not refer to that. #19 is currently in good hands with Marvin Casias and Carlos Llamas. She looks a little the worse for wear right now, but currently they have too much to do to keep the railroad afloat to invest to much time in cosmetic fixes on #19. And there are still some nagging electrical problems that have to do with the age of the equipment as well as the some misguided outside help, but they have asked for and received some knowledgeable help with that. The GLRR has indeed helped them out on occasion with problems on the #19.
Fact is, and this is in the past for sure, that when #15 came back to Georgetown a number of years ago from being leased to the C&TS, it needed a lot of work, and that memory is still etched in the minds of those folks who had to fix her back up. The problem in the past with the C&TS shop crews and the #19 is they have not had the opportunity to develop proficiencies with diesel locomotive maintenance because they are first and foremost a steam shop.
One other point that I did not apparently make clear. The GLRR is not 'my' railroad and I am not employed by them.
You said: "With comments and an attitude like was just demonstrated in your post it's no wonder the CHS is booting your railroad off the property." You know as well as I do, nothing in my post is related to why the CHS is 'booting' the GLRR off the property. Besides, the CHS is not 'booting' the GLRR off the property. The GLRR is choosing to leave because the CHS has turned the pasture brown in a veiled attempt to advance their own agenda.
Enough said from an outsider, let's don't let this go any further downhill. Mark Greska will do what he wants and what he considers the best actions with his equipment and that's the bottom line, regardless of what John, you or I think.
