Here we are at Hoist Ridge where the Converse Hoist reached its highest point. The cars were hauled about two miles and raised about 700 feet to reach this point. After this cars were lowered about 600 feet using 2000 feet of incline to the Sequoia Railroad for the 6 mile run to the mill at Millwood:
At Hoist Ridge was a short spur that headed to the northwest to a pocket of timber:
The spur ran about 1/2 mile. Hiking it we found the latter part entered thick brush.
The only artifacts found on the spur were some of the ubiquitous wire rope:
And what looks like a truss rod from a log car:
