I think you’re being generous to this Canadian in saying that our side is the most scenic. Skagway-White Pass is certainly the most spectacular. This map from the WPYR website.
I would imagine the railway is more than happy to have just the shorter trips for now, with more trips per day and probably a better income/cost ratio per passenger vs the longer runs?
I notice the WPYR.COM website still has the 2021 information up and includes trip options to Carcross etc. Perhaps this just hasn’t been updated yet because there’s only the one excursion option currently offered anyway.
Border hassles with our customs aside, do you still have the masking requirement for passengers? That would apply on the Canadian side, and would be another hindrance for some people wanting a longer trip.
