Thank You, Wayne — I think. I always try to have SOME excuse – no matter how small – for switching to another track, and – as my Curmudgeonly mentor JBWX recommends –
I try to remember to forewarn unsuspecting readers of the NGDF (of whom there are probably very, very few at this late date who are unsuspecting) down which embankment the derailed train of thought is headed by modifying the 'Subject Line' accordingly* . . .

Considering the conditions in the antipœdies at this time of year, Wayne -
I recommend switching from cold, or even "cellar temperature" beer – even my namesakes 'Old Peculier', 'Old Curmudgeon' and 'GRAMP
S' – to piping hot
Chocolaté Mexicano ** — a hearty mix of cocoa, coffee and tequila. (The more tequila, the better.)
- El Abuelo Histœrico, Greengo y Curmudgeoño de los Locomoturas Viejos y Verdes,
aka Der Grossväterlich DünkelOlivGrünDampfKesselMantelLiebHabender
p.s.
'The Man from Snowy River' – filmed in Oz during the winter there, IIRC – was one of Jackelopette's favorite movies in her pre-teen years, as was the Pacific Electric docudrama
'Who Framed Roger Rabbit'.
* Perhaps the reason for my reputation as a @#$%& Modifier.
** I'm not sure what is meant by "piping" hot, but if it has anything to do with bagpipes you may wish to avoid it
