I think that 491's tank had some leaks and patches that led to its retirement. It had 2 patches on the right side about 2 feet back of the gangway that are not present on the current tank. I know that RGS 42 now has the tank from 317 scrapped in '48. The tank aboard flat 1001 is originally from 488 if I read yall right. That would mean that 487 is on her third tank, correct? And for a while there 346 pulled 318's tank, but now both of them are leaking, so both need new wrappers. And RGS 20 has 22's tank and 25's cab as the result of a wreck that totaled RGS 40. Does anyone know of any pictures of 20 from that accident. Otto Perry took a couple of 40 but I am unable to find anything on 20. There are countless other tank switch stories.
